UNDERSTAND · RECOGNIZE · SPEAK UP

Make room for the questions
students already have.

Clear, reassuring guidance for classroom conversations—and for the moments a student asks for help.

A REASSURING STARTING POINT

Periods can look and feel different.

Some manageable cramps or changes in energy can happen. Early cycles may vary. Focus on how a student feels and what symptoms stop them from doing.

Notice patterns

Track when bleeding starts, how long it lasts, and changes from the usual pattern.

Everyday life matters

Discomfort should not repeatedly prevent learning, sleep or participation.

Try saying: “You know your body best. If something is worrying you, you can ask for help.”
Educational scope & sources

This hub provides education, not diagnosis or individual medical advice. Choose materials to suit student readiness and school policies. Clinical thresholds are based on ACOG's adolescent period guidance; school-support examples draw on CycleWise materials.
